| I was only staying the night in Chile, so I hadn't done any research beyond making sure I didn't need a visa. This little surprise party was waiting for me at customs. It's always a guessing game as to what sort of disagreement the USA is having with any particular government, but in this case it is fairly straightforward: Chilean nationals must pay a US $100 fee to just apply for a visa to enter the United States. Hence, "Reciprocity." |
